The Story Behind the Stitches
My journey into the world of hats started during my master's studies at the University of Bologna. Amidst the historic charm of the rustic red city, I stumbled upon lovely family-run yarn shops that reignited my passion for crafting knitwear. Cappellini was born with a mission that is close to my heart: spreading love and warmth to heads everywhere! I believe in the importance of caring for both our physical and mental well-being, understanding that even just a little bit of comfort can go a long way. That's why part of the proceeds are dedicated to supporting homeless individuals in Bologna and New York City, particularly those with beloved canine companions, ensuring that warmth and care extend beyond heads and to hearts in need.

My Story
I was born and raised in New York City and spent summers in Italy with my maternal Italian relatives. My grandmother taught me how to knit as a child and it has been a joy of mine ever since. After graduating from Brown University in 2022, I received a Fulbright scholarship in Italy, where I rediscovered the tender touch of Italian merino yarn. I recently finished my laurea magistrale in Italian Literature at the University of Bologna and am currently pursuing my PhD at Columbia University in New York. When I am not immersed in my work or entranced by the serenity of my yarn, I am spending time with my Lagotto Romagnolo rescue named Po, painting, writing poetry and novellas, practicing ballet, and teaching yoga.
